The Los Angeles Lakers have been considering different trade options to provide the necessary support to LeBron James and Co. after their transfer deadline ended on Dec 15. Therefore, in the past month, multiple notable players like Bradley Beal, Alex Caruso, and Jae Crowder, among others have been linked with the Lakers. But unfortunately, none of the rumors ended up producing any substantial results. Recently, another report emerged professing the Lakers’ interest in this Pacers’ guard, which could very well become the straw that would break the camel’s back for impatient LA fans.

The player who is currently speculated to join the Lakers is none other than the Indiana Pacers star Buddy Hield. Over a week ago, Hield broke the internet by becoming the fastest player to score a 3-pointer in history. And now the Pacers guard has been linked with the Lakers to create more history in LA. Moreover, since Myles Turner has also rebuffed his extension offer from the Pacers, the Lakers could potentially acquire the 26-year-old too by getting rid of their guard Russell Westbrook. However, the path is not so simple as the Lakers’ main focus still lies on Hield.

Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus recently shed some light on the aforementioned affair. Pincus quoted an NBA executive, saying, “They could still trade Buddy [Hield]; he’s been available since they got him,” a different Eastern Conference executive said, “But they’re not looking to tank, and I hear they’re trying to extend Myles.”

Meanwhile, the news soon went viral on social media and made a lot of fans reflect on the news. They took to Twitter to express their opinions. Most fans believed that this rumor would never turn into reality just like all the previous rumors.

The major problem with the Lakers is the lack of three-point shooters in their squad who could accurately score from anywhere on the court. But if they manage to acquire Hield somehow, then it would solve the problem to some extent.
