Hollywood has always fascinated athletes across various sports. However, the NBA has had some close associations with the entertainment industry for a long time. Many NBA legends like Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar have starred in famous movies. Notably, LeBron James got an opportunity to star on the big screen during the production of the 2015 movie Trainwreck.?

During an interview in 2015, Trainwreck’s director Judd Apatow revealed tennis legend Chris Evert’s four-word message to LeBron James, leaving NBA and tennis fans red-faced.

The 2015 film featured LeBron James in six scenes, where he played the role of a patient and romantic advisor to his sports surgeon. Bill Hader played the role of the sports surgeon while Amy Schumer was the star and screenwriter of the film. Moreover, the director Apatow pitched the role to LeBron after he announced his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Luckily, the 18-time All-Star joined the film’s production during the final week.

While playing himself, James was portrayed as an athlete who was ‘cheap’ and completely in love with Cleveland. Further, Apatow revealed a scene involving LeBron James and WTA legend Chris Evert where she was supposed to say four offensive words to LeBron.??

Chris Evert’s ‘dirty’ words to LeBron James in Trainwreck

The Trainwreck director revealed that James was very cooperative during the shoot. He also managed to nail every line or move he was asked to do during the production. However, the renowned comedian reckoned Chris Evert had some reservations when she was asked to say an offensive line to King James. Apatow suggested that the former WTA singles world no. 1 got ‘blanched’ when she was asked to say, “Stop cock-blocking me, LeBron.”

Judd Apatow added, “I guess that’s a childhood fantasy, to get Chris Evert to say something dirty.” As it turns out, Evert didn’t know the meaning of the expression. In fact, she had to ask her son, later on, to explain the meaning to her.

Being a tennis veteran and an inspiration, Apatow wanted to portray Evert’s easygoing side in Trainwreck with some dirty words. However, the words from the mouth of a tennis legend like Evert surely left NBA and tennis fans red-faced.
