For a select few basketball stars, their legacy goes beyond their accolades. Even their sneakers are a statement. Michael Jordan managed to create an entire culture with his Air Jordan brand. Austin Reaves has captivated Los Angeles. His hard motor and cunning awareness on the court made him a fan favorite. The former Arkansas star played an integral part in the Lakers’ second-half rally to make the playoffs. The undrafted guard had a career year, averaging 13 points and 3.4 assists – both career highs.

After his burst in the postseason, talks of a contract extension became imminent. But the improbable happened recently. The partnership will reportedly fetch the 25-year-old seven figures every year.

“If you’d have told me I would have a signature shoe at 18, I’d have looked at you and called you a liar,” expressed Reaves on his new shoe deal.
