Similarly, a 42-year-old Miami Heat legend hung his boots after the Sunday night game against the Orlando Magic in front of the home crowd. Ahead of the game, the legend’s former teammate Dwyane Wade shared a heartwarming message. Hours after it, Gabrielle Union joined her husband to celebrate the farewell game.
Former Heat players like Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Andre Iguodala, Wade, and several others sent their regards with a video message. The stars spoke about the 3x NBA Champion Udonis Haslem’s contributions to the team and wished him luck in his future endeavors. Notably, LeBron James James said, “You’re the heartbeat man, of Miami man… To Be With You, To Fight With You… was a treat to me, man.”

Udonis Haslem stepped into the court for the last time amid a cheering crowd, including Wade and Union. Haslem dropped 24 points in his last game coming off the bench. Even though the Heat is all set to take on the Atlanta Hawks in the play-in tournament, Haslem decided to end his career in the regular season.

Wade and Union displayed Haslem jerseys from the side court as a mark of respect to the legend. The Hall of Fame inductee also said, “My brother, my daughter’s god dad, just trying to enjoy his last ride,” during an interaction with an interviewer.

Following the game, Union shared the video of the interview on her Instagram story with a thoughtful caption. The caption read, “Wouldn’t miss it for the world!! Congratulations @ud40 on an amazing career!!” Notably, Wade’s daughter Kaavia also joined the couple on the courtside.

Wade & Haslem – the Heat Brothers
Udonis Haslem and Wade played their rookie season for the Heat in 2003. Whereas, Haslem had the privilege of representing the same team for a 20-season-long career. Wade played the majority of his career alongside Haslem. Moreover, the duo holds a special bond off the court as well. In his message to the legend, Wade said, “Nothing was given to you. Everything was earned, my brother.” NBA recently honored Wade with Hall of Famer and fans expect the league to honor Haslem in the coming years.
