But that has never stopped him from helping those in need whenver he can.

Shaquille O’Neal is a designated sheriff and a reserve police officer in the agencies in Miami. However, Shaq didn’t just want to be a cop for the sake of it. He wanted to earn it through the traditional process and went through a series of tests to become so. During his days with the Miami Heat, Shaq was sworn in as a reserve police officer in a private ceremony.

Despite so much talent and work, Shaq has always managed to find time to give back to the community. The Big Diesel teamed up with a sheriff’s office for a Thanksgiving giveaway later this month.

The Tabernacle of Praise Church in McDonough is being helped by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Shaquille O’Neal for Thanksgiving. The ‘Thanks for Giving Giveaway‘ will take place for 10 days in McDonough for families in need.

“People are going through a lot, and I just want to make sure I do my part, seen and unseen,” said Shaq.

In less than two weeks, the Tabernacle of Praise Church will welcome families in need for a small giveaway. Shaq, reportedly, lives around the corner and has promised to contribute to the Thanksgiving drive.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has made a big reputation among the NBA circles for philanthropy. He has said that he does it to make his mother proud. Shaq also runs the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation to help youngsters. The foundation aims to help underserved youth to reach their full potential.
