Grammy-winning hip-hop sensation Monica’s debut radio talk show, MoTalk, aired live on Saturday with Superman Shaq himself being her first-ever guest. The conversation was very open as the two have known each other for years. Minutes into the episode, Shaquille O’Neal let out his charm and made a confession. “When they wanted me to do your show, I was like ‘I’ll do Monica, but Melinda has to be there,” said Shaq, referring to Monica’s first cousin.
The Big Man also said, “Melinda, wherever you are,” and showed the phone call gesture requesting her to give him a call. Monica quickly responded to Shaq’s antic. “You like our DNA. My mom said the first time she was around. She was like, ‘He’s so special.’,” said Monica. “It’s something that a lot of people don’t get. But I think women are terrified of you. I think women are terrified because you’re charismatic and there is nowhere you can go where somebody won’t know you. And you have limitless access.”
Thereafter, Monica asked Shaquille O’Neal, who according to him is a “perfect woman.”
“I had two perfect women and I messed it up. My first one was my baby’s mother, Arnetta, and then I met Shaunie. Shaunie was also a perfect woman and I messed it up,” confessed Shaq. “I had two perfect women and I messed it up by being dumb.”
Although for different reasons, Monica is also familiar with the pain of losing a loved one.
