Meanwhile, a 21-year-old star is set to join the multi-billion dollar company in a deal that will see her rub shoulders with the aforementioned elite athletes.

Adidas has a long history of collaborating with some of the most well-known names in sports. Their collaborations with tennis legend Ana Ivanovic and NBA star James Harden are just two of their most memorable ones. The WNBA champion Candace Parker is also a part of this list, as she has been collaborating with Adidas since 2008.

After spending his first few NBA seasons with Nike, the Philadelphia 76ers icon, James Harden, signed with the sportswear company in 2015. Since then, Harden has grown into one of the most well-known faces of the Adidas brand. In addition to his success on the court, Harden has been a key player in Adidas’ marketing initiatives. He often makes appearances in television ads and promotional posts.

Former professional tennis player Ana Ivanovic was a magnet for numerous brands, including Adidas. She committed to a lifetime partnership with the German sportswear titan in 2010. Despite her retirement from competitive tennis in 2016, the player still takes part in the brand’s marketing campaigns.

The association between Candace Parker and Adidas was further cemented in 2020. She signed a new multi-year agreement with the company the same year. The collaboration aimed to empower the subsequent generation of female athletes. As part of the collaboration, Parker and Adidas created a new line of basketball kicks and accessories. These were introduced at the beginning of 2021.

However, Candace Parker isn’t the only WNBA star that Adidas has been able to sign.

Adidas signs Aliyah Boston

Aliyah Boston, the number one overall pick for the WNBA draft of 2022, is the latest addition to the Adidas family. She recently signed a multiyear endorsement with the company. By doing so, she becomes the featured face of Adidas Basketball in the WNBA. Boston said, “It feels amazing to be part of Adidas.” She continued,? “Adidas is empowering women, and they’re opening the doors for women’s sports. It’s just continuing to grow the game.”

The WNBA Star also appeared in the Under Armour “Protect This House” advertisement campaign in April 2022. She became the first female basketball player to sign a (NIL) name,? image, and likeness contract with the company. Prior to her professional career, her representatives at WME Basketball began new negotiations with numerous brands. As part of her multiyear endorsement agreement with Adidas, Aliyah Boston will don the Adidas Exhibit Select shoe. This is the same style that her basketball hero, Candace Parker, wore.
