LeBron James and the Lakers have fallen out of the Play-In picture. Currently, the Lakers stand 11th in the West. As the Pelicans handed the Lakers a costly loss. LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 61 points. With each tough loss, things are not looking good for the Lakers. The competition is tough lying between the Pelicans, Lakers, and the Spurs.

LeBron’s legacy and the Lakers’ season seem to be on the line as of their current record. The King has been going off, squeezing out his whole arsenal every game. For the past 5 games, James has averaged 37 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. LeBron is giving his all, though fans still question if the King is better than Wizards Michael Jordan.

Is Wizards Jordan really better than 2021-22 LeBron James?

Well, this argument calls for numbers and, most importantly, team support. Michael Jordan averaged 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists with the Wizards. In both seasons, the Wizards finished with a record of 37-45, not making the playoffs.

In his 2 seasons with the Wizards, Jordan at best played with Richard Hamilton, who averaged 20 points and 3 rebounds in the 2001-02 season. The following season, Jerry Stackhouse joined the Wizards, putting up 21 points and 4 assists a game. Basically, these stats won’t match up to LeBron James’ current number, but the fans had a mixed reaction.

LeBron is averaging 30 points, 6 assists, and 8 rebounds a game, at 37. At the current pace, James might finish off the season with these numbers or better.

What happens if LeBron James fails to lead his team to the playoffs?

The Lakers are in a tough situation right now. It’s hard to say whether they will make it back to the Play-In picture. Their poor defense has cost them a lot of games already, and at this point, they cannot afford to lose. It also depends on the Pelicans‘ record as well as with the Spurs. If the team can win their last 5 games, there may be a good chance for them to settle in the top 10.
