Brittney Griner went through a rough patch last year when detained in Russia for nearly 10 months. Now, she is spending quality time with her wife Cherelle Griner after reuniting with her in December 2022. Recently, the 2014 WNBA champion honored a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer in her own special way. Her tribute comes just a few days after herself making it into Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people of 2023.

There is no doubt about Brittney’s love for basketball, which is reflected every time she steps onto the hardwood. However, apart from being a big fan of the game, one thing she seems to love too is getting inked. The eight-time WNBA All-Star boasts a trove of tattoos on her body including one of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. She recently decided to add to her phantasmagoric selection.

The 32-year-old shared a clip on her Instagram story that unveils the tattoo artist recreating the image of the legendary singer on her left leg. The 2014 WNBA champion commended her stylist too while surely beaming with joy after getting herself another tattoo. The caption of the video read, “Thank you for straight killing it for me bro @jnl_tattoo”

This comes just days after Griner made it onto a reputed annual list of global personalities.

Griner finds her name on Time’s list of 100 most influential people this year.

Time magazine presented its list of the 100 most influential people of 2023 last Thursday. It is divided into six categories: Artists, Icons, Pioneers, Leaders, Titans and Innovators. Six athletes were selected as the most influential people of 2023 and Griner was one of them. She was listed in the icons category.

A peer of each person on the list wrote a short message for them in their honor. WNBA legend Sue Bird wrote a piece for the eight-time All-Star. Her co-athletes to make it are Patrick Mahomes, Mikaela Shiffrin, Lionel Messi, Iga Swiatek and Kylian Mbappe.
