Now, Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce has urged that Leonard should retire. On a recent episode of Showtime Basketball, Pierce sat down with his former championship-run teammate, Kevin Garnett. And that is when The Truth said, ?If I?m Kawhi Leonard, I would really consider retirement. This has a lot to do with what his body has been through.? Pierce may have seconded what NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith said a few days ago.

Smith too went on his show and urged that the Los Angeles Clippers should force Kawhi Leonard to retire.?

Should Kawhi Leonard consider retiring?

Kawhi Leonard signed a four-year $176 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers back in 2021. This means that he is still under contract and will be earning $48 million in the next season.

So, it may be highly unlikely that Leonard would even consider retiring from the league. It may not just be because of the monetary aspect but also because Leonard is 31 and still has a few more years left in him.
