Many celebrities, being fans of the sport of basketball, have always appreciated the NBA stars. Many of the stars have attended NBA games over the years supporting their favorite stars.

Fans and celebrities widely celebrated the recent Michael Jordan documentary on Netflix ‘The Last Dance.’ Many Hollywood celebrities showed their appreciation of the inspiring tale of the basketball legend. This is just one of the many examples of the connections between Hollywood and the NBA.

Now, reports confirm a documentary is in the works about a team in its lowest moments.

Laurence Fishburne to play Doc Rivers in the Los Angeles Clippers documentary

The Matrix series star, Laurence Fishburne will play former Clippers coach Doc Rivers in the documentary ‘The Sterling Affairs’. The documentary is based on the downfall of disgraced former Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

The fans had their fun on Twitter after the confirmation of the actor.

Apart from the Academy Award-nominated actor playing the NBA coach, Jacki Weaver will play Sterling’s wife Shelly Sterling. Shelburne is also a part of the executive producer’s list for the series.

The documentary will revolve around Sterling’s ownership of the Clippers and the incident, which led to a lifetime ban. He owned the Clippers for 33 years. This was the season in which he was eventually forced to sell the team.

It happened after a few tapes of Donald making racist remarks leaked, which led to the NBA handing him a lifetime ban. Moreover, there was also the maximum possible fine of $2.5 million. Everyone trashed his reputation rightfully.

The NBA players also bashed Sterling, and the league came together. The documentary might not be one for the Clippers’ fans to relive the disgraceful moments of their then-owner. But it surely would be important because it would focus on the fact that this is the sort of mindset that will not be tolerated.
