The going isn’t getting any easy for the short-handed Lakers as they travel to Brooklyn to face the mighty Nets on their tough road trip through the Eastern Conference. While the Nets rule the East now, the Lakers are down all the way to fifth, and they will attempt to prevent a further slide in the table.

Over the course of their last 10 games, the Nets have lost just twice. When Kevin Durant was out, James Harden was carrying them to victories. But since the Beard got injured last week, Kyrie Irving has taken the mantle for them.
And now Kevin Durant is back, as well. In their 139-111 win over the Pelicans, KD came off the bench and scored 17 points in just 19 minutes of action. Although the Nets will have him under a minutes restriction, he is likely to be re-instated into the starting lineup.

Preview | Los Angeles Lakers
In contrast to the Nets, the last 10 games don’t make very good reading for the Lakers. They have lost six times in the absence of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
LeBron recently hinted at the duo’s potential return on social media. Though it is unlikely, they may take to the floor this week. So, the likes of Schroder, Kuzma, and Drummond need to showcase their credentials tonight in their absence.

It is hard to look past the Nets as the overwhelming favorites for this encounter. They have been blowing their opponents off the court this season, and we can’t see a reason why they won’t dish out the same punishment to an under-manned Lakers team.
