The NBA Finals is probably the biggest stage for any NBA player. This is the stage where the players write their legacies and they need to be supremely focused and dedicated. Not a lot of people would think of being out before the game. But NBA legend Dennis Rodman had a wild night that helped him release pressure before the NBA Finals in 1996. And this included a wild party with elevated cages, where women were pouring wax.

It was the 1996 NBA Finals. This was Michael Jordan’s first year back at the Chicago Bulls and he had led them to a then-NBA-best record. And he had a brilliant teammate this time around in Dennis Rodman. The Worm was a two-time NBA champion and was arguably the best rebounder in the league.

He played a crucial part in the run to the Finals. And the Bulls were leading 3-2 with a chance to seal the series in Chicago.

Meanwhile, Rodman wanted to blow off some steam, and he went out in Chicago. It started off in a mild manner and he had some sushi and Sake bombs. But later it took a wild turn as Rodman ended up going to Chicago’s iconic crobar nightclub. It was famous for being one of the city’s finest techno clubs. And he found himself in the middle of all this.

Dennis Rodman accounted for all of this in his book, Walk On The Wild. He wrote, “We ended up at Crobar, where they have a bondage rack and men will stand there writhing in pain while voluptuous women pour burning wax onto their nipples, and people in elevated cages dry-hump each other to the beat of ear-splitting techno-house music played by a lesbian deejay named ‘Psychobitch’.”

Rodman had unbelievable energy, and going out, having a wild night out helped him release pressure and, in some weird way, prepare him for the most crucial game of the season in which he showcased why he was one of the best to ever do it on the defensive end of the floor,” a report on Rodman’s night out concluded.

After this, Rodman would end up finishing up in style, as the Bulls won the pivotal game 6 to cap off one of the greatest seasons in NBA history. Rodman has a huge role as he finished with 9 points and 19 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. And he did all of this after a wild night out in the city of Chicago.
