NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal can be a harsh critic as a basketball analyst. Over the years, he has had some huge rifts with superstars because of his criticism of them. He has even sometimes faced the brunt from the fans for his comments on certain players. However, Shaq has time and again stated that he is not a hater and added that he is trying to push the current generation to be greater. Also, O’Neal doesn’t shy away from praising a player too. He has massively praised superstars like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and so forth. The Los Angeles Lakers legend recently showed his appreciation to the inspiring Hansel Emmanuel.

Shaquille O’Neal shared the inspiring story

Hansel Emmanuel went viral a few years back for his high-flying dunks and skills against strong high school opponents despite having only one arm. Shaquille O’Neal recently shared a video clip of Emmanuel in his Instagram story. The viral video clip was Emmanuel’s basketball coach talking about an inspiring incident about the strong mentality of the young star. The coach, Corey Gipson, stated that he used to make players do five fingertip pushups whenever they missed a layup or something similar. However, he felt Emmanuel could not do it. But he did not want him to know about it either. So he asked his players to do sprints instead.

However, Emmanuel realized the coach is changing it for him and was adamant he will do it with just one arm. But he could not do it and started to tremble as he tried. Then one of his teammates helped. Gipson, “And then one of them went over to him and grabbed him by the waist and as Hansel was straining to get up, he lifted him up. Hansel said, ‘Come on!’ And he went back down and he lifted him up again. He said, ‘Come on!’ And he did all five of them. Yeah, he can dunk that ball. He can fly down the floor. But, Hansel is so much bigger than that.”
