Earlier, there were rumors of a Jaylen Brown and Kevin Durant swap between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics. However, that idea has since been scrapped after an executive from the Eastern Conference confirmed it.?

Celtics not taking any chances with the future of their franchise

An Eastern Conference executive reportedly told Heavy.com that the Celtics would under no circumstances trade Jaylen Brown for Kevin Durant. The executive said:?“Oh, it would be zero interest from the Celtics, that would be a non-starter. Brown?s an All-Star and he?s eight years younger than K.D. The team?s playing well, they?re not going to touch that.”

It would arguably be an odd move for the Boston Celtics to trade one of their up-and-coming stars to trade for an aging Kevin Durant. Jaylen Brown has been playing exceptionally well for the Celtics. He is averaging 25.1 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 3.2 APG so far this season with a true shooting percentage of 58.4%.

Furthermore, the Celtics? front office wouldn’t want to break the duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. The two All-Stars will possibly go on to be the centerpieces of the Celtics’ future. And the front office would likely be looking to build a team around these two stars.

Jaylen Brown vs Kevin Durant

Durant is already 34 years old whereas Brown is just 26. He arguably still has a lot more productive years ahead of him. Even though KD has been producing at a high level so far this season, fans have pointed out that this move does not seem to make sense for Boston.?
