The current hot topic in the NBA world is Brooklyn Nets star?Kyrie Irving‘s trade request. Irving became the third Nets player to make such a request after?James Harden?and?Kevin Durant. Following Irving’s recent revelation, speculations regarding the trade’s possibility began forming, and so did fans’ reactions.
Kyrie Irving recently made it clear that he wants out of the Brooklyn Nets.?As per reports by Shams Charania of?The Athletic, the Nets offered a contract extension to Irving that contained certain stipulations. However, both parties disagreed on the contract’s conditions, and the 8x NBA All-Star requested a trade ahead of the February 9 deadline.

Following the trade news, the possibility of a successful trade before the trade deadline seems unlikely. During a phone conversation on NBA TV, Insider Chris Haynes discussed if Irving would play the rest of the season with the Nets in case the trade cannot take place by February 9. Haynes replied that while he has yet to hear from Irving or his team, he felt Irving would opt to play the season with the Nets before leaving in free agency.

“What I will say is that, he has informed the Nets that he will leave in free agency if he is not traded.?So with that being said, I would tend to think that he will still cooperate and finish out his contract,” Haynes said.
