Chef Curry recently sat down for an interview to discuss his career and the mention of one particular heartbreak involving LeBron James, which was the hardest to deal with, really got to him.

During the interview, Stephen Curry admitted how the incredible Cleveland Cavaliers‘ comeback in the 2016 NBA Finals still haunts him. It haunts him to a point that he still gets agitated when someone brings it up. And that’s exactly what happened recently.

Chef Curry has dealt with enough losses in his time with the San Francisco side, before winning his first NBA Finals. On the way to his second Championship ring, Curry and the Warriors were all but sure to win the 2016 NBA Finals, but then LeBron James happened. The Cavaliers, under the leadership of a determined LeBron James, came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the franchise’s first NBA title.

As it turns out, the loss in the 2016 NBA finals still haunts Steph Curry. In a recent interview with Esquire, the four-time NBA Champion got annoyed at the mention of the topic while following a certain line of questioning. “From grade school to the NBA, what?s the hardest single-game loss you?ve ever had? Which one felt the worst after?” asked the interviewer. “Game 7 in 2016,” Curry abruptly replied.

?Game 7 in 2016.? said the former unanimous MVP. He further added, ?Yeah. That was probably the lowest feeling after a game, for sure. Why are you bringing up old stuff though, that’s messed up!?

It is pretty evident that the loss still agitates the Baby-faced assassin. Back in 2016, the Warriors and the Cavs butted heads several times over the years and were each other’s biggest rivals at the time. In total, they faced each other four times in the Finals, while three of them went in favor of the Warriors, the one which didn?t is touted to be one of the greatest comebacks in NBA Finals history by the Cavaliers.

Curry further claimed that the devastating loss didn’t teach him any lessons at the time. It just showed him how grueling the path to the top is and how you have to start from the jump every year to achieve greatness.

For fans who aren?t aware, James and co. were down and out as the first four games of the finals concluded, their record being 3-1. Incidentally, the Cavaliers went on to win the series 4-3 following that. King James won the NBA finals MVP trophy while averaging 29.7 PPG in seven games.?

Although this already sounds amazing, there are a lot of things that make the series amazing. James and Kyrie Irving became the first duo to score 40+ points in the NBA finals. Additionally, Curry faced his first career ejection in game 4, implying the pressure the San Francisco side was under.
