Who is Stephen Curry’s wife, Ayesha Curry?

Ayesha Curry was born on March 23, 1989, in Ontario, Canada to John and Carol Alexander. Her mother is of Jamaican and Chinese descent, while her father has mixed African-American and Polish ancestry. She is an actress and a well-known TV personality, who started her career as a model after high school and went on to act in several TV shows and movies. Even though she does not have any professional training, her love for cooking from a very young age kick-started her culinary career in 2014.

She currently runs multiple restaurants and food outlets and is a cookbook as well. Additionally, the entrepreneur likes to give back to society and has made her mark as a philanthropist. Ayesha started hosting her own cooking show Ayesha’s Homemade in 2016. Stephen and Ayesha Curry have three children together. The couple welcomed their first child Riley in 2012 and had their second daughter Ryan in 2015. Their paths crossed once again when Steph visited Los Angeles for the ESPY Awards during his college days. At the time, Ayesha had graduated high school and was staying in LA to pursue her modeling and acting career. When the two met each other, they instantly reconnected and spent a day together as friends.

Interestingly, Ayesha once revealed that she wanted to never date an athlete because she felt most athletes were “arrogant”. However, she was initially unaware that Steph was a basketball star, as she had no idea what the ESPY Awards were all about. A few months later, the two were in a romantic relationship together.

Steph then declared for the NBA draft in 2009 and was selected by the Warriors. Afterwards, he proposed to Ayesha on his knees as both their parents watched from afar. The four-time NBA champion once disclosed that he had not prepared anything for the proposal and went with the flow. Ayesha later reassured him that the proposal was perfect. The couple then tied the knot in 2011 in a dream wedding in front of friends and family.

Ayesha and Stephen Curry often express their love for each other on social media. And they go above and beyond to make each other feel loved when it’s a special day. A few weeks back, the legendary point guard shared a heartfelt message for his wife on her 34th birthday via Instagram.

He wrote, “My woman @ayeshacurry! Love of my life. Happiest of birthdays! I love every part of you, and I hope this year is filled with laughter, growth, peace, and happiness. You deserve it all. God did a good thing on this day and selfishly I’m the most thankful. 3/23″

Why did rapper Drake drop Ayesha Curry’s name?

Ayesha Curry has been a huge reason behind the success of Stephen Curry, ever since they first started dating. Ayesha is loved by many around the world including Steph’s friend and iconic rapper, Drake. In 2011, Drake name-dropped Ayesha on the track Race My Mind from the album Certified Lover Boy. The rapper referenced Steph’s wife in the song, “How I’m supposed to wife you if you ain’t Ayesha enough”.

At the time of the release of the album, Ayesha was trending on Twitter because of the reference in the song. It seemed like Steph and Ayesha were okay with the reference as the nine-time NBA All-Star congratulated Drake for the release of the album.

Ayesha and Stephen Curry have been together for over a decade now and their bond is growing stronger by the day. The couple support each other in every step of the way During the two-time MVP’s initial struggles in the league because of his injury issues, Ayesha stood firm by him. She supported him throughout his rehab. And she continues to do so whenever her husband is out with an injury. Steph won Sports Illustrated‘s Sportsperson of the Year in 2022. During his acceptance speech, he called his wife the “backbone” of the family while expressing his gratitude for her support.

Ayesha Curry also accompanied Steph to his graduation ceremony last year, where the four-time NBA champion vowed to strive for gender equality in sports. The couple also took a vacation to the South of France in August of last year to commemorate their 11th anniversary. While browsing the beautiful part of the country, they made stops in the seaside towns of Saint-Tropez, Èze, and Antibes, enjoying ice-cream dates and blissful boat rides.
