After losing three consecutive games and gradually slipping down the Western Conference rankings, the Dallas Mavericks bounced back with a huge 123-119 win on Wednesday night. With the playoffs just around the corner, the victory against the Sacramento Kings kept play-in hopes alive for the Mavs. Following his game-winning performance, Mavs star Kyrie Irving took time out for a quick post-game interview during which he felt obligated to offer his apology to millions of viewers for his language. With rumors circulating about Irving’s future in Dallas, it was a much-needed win for the Mavs to get back on track.
Despite going on a four-game losing streak at the beginning of the season, the Sacramento Kings have had a steady run to date. With a total of 48 wins, the Kings are the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, securing a guaranteed spot in the playoffs. On the other hand, the Mavs have fallen to 11th in the West and need other results to go in their favor if they want to make the postseason.

The 8x NBA All-Star became the star of the show after he dropped a game-high 31 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to victory. While the Mavs still have two more games to go, it was a much-needed win to increase the odds of making it to the playoff this season. Shortly after defeating the Kings in Dallas, Irving talked about the win during a brief interview.

As soon as the profanity slipped out of Irving’s mouth, he was quick to apologize for the blunder he made. The 2016 NBA champion directed his apology toward children and said, “Excuse my language kids.”

Irving, who has been playing while fasting for Ramadan, got it going in the second half after having some food during the break. Although he has faced a lot of criticism over the past few years, Irving remains one of the most entertaining players in the league.
Irving gets back on track in the 4th quarter
After an average performance in the first half of the game, Kyrie Irving became a force to be reckoned with after halftime. The Mavs guard scored a total of 31 points, out of which 25 points were scored in the last two quarters of the game. The game concluded with Irving dropping 19 points in the fourth quarter with a corner three-pointer. Teammate and Mavs superstar Luka Doncic scored 29 points to go along with 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.

As the 2022-23 season nears its end, Irving’s future with Dallas remains a topic of interest. While Mavs owner Mark Cuban has revealed his interest in re-signing Irving, the NBA star is reportedly keen on testing the waters in free agency.
