As the majority of the NBA world knows, the Dallas Mavericks and the Brooklyn Nets came to an agreement before the trade deadline. The Nets parted ways with their star point guard Kyrie Irving after they could not work out a contract extension. This led to Irving donning a Mavericks jersey and will be sharing the court with Slovenian basketball superstar, Luka Doncic.?
Luka Doncic has missed out on the last four games for the Dallas Mavericks. According to a report from Fox Sports, Doncic has been sidelined due to a contusion in his right heel which has caused him to stay off the floor. Although he will be playing the next game against the Sacramento Kings.?
Irving eagerly waits for Doncic to arrive

Since the trade between the Mavericks and Nets, Doncic has not played a game. Whereas Kyrie Irving has been at the helm, leading the team on the floor. Fans surely are excited to see what the two can do on the floor together and so is Irving.
In a post-game interview, Irving was asked to give his thoughts on the Mavericks’ fast pace game style. Along with how it would look when Doncic returns from injury.
To that, Irving said, ?I’m looking forward to seeing what that looks with Luka out there. Me running the wing, just shooters getting to their spots, and if we don’t have anything, just settle into the half-court??

So, it definitely looks like Irving has been able to settle well in the Mavs? system of offense. As he is already familiar with how the team runs the pace on offense and what their style of play is on the floor.
Can Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic work together?

Though Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have yet to play together, there are high hopes for the two. Irving has a history of playing alongside superstars like LeBron James and Kevin Durant, so it likely won?t be much of a problem for him.

As for Doncic, he did share the ball with Kristaps Porzingis for a brief time but that duo was short-lived. So, the main area of concern would be how compatible Irving and Doncic?s style of play would be when they play together.

Being a point guard, Irving mostly demands the ball. This means that Doncic would possibly receive fewer possessions on offense. So, if the two can work it out on and off the floor, it would be hard to imagine the two running into any problems.?
