Often in the NBA world, we have seen the players make some questionable fashion choices that have left the media and the fans perplexed. For instance, when LeBron James wore a suit and a half pants, and Kyle Kuzma decided to show up as what one would describe as a ‘Valorant character’. However, there’s one player who you can’t miss out on when talking about fashion in the NBA world and that’s Dwyane Wade. The 42-year-old’s fashion choices have always been bold and fearless often leading him to become the talk of the town; one of which had left his former teammate disturbed.

Recently Josh Richardson the 30-year-old sat down for an interview in which he recalled the time when Wade left his pants at home. The bizarre incident shocked Richardson who back then had just joined the Miami Heat as a 40th pick. Wade’s former teammate recalled, “I remember one of the first days we’re playing pickups and D Wade had just got back in town. We playing like a game already. I see somebody walk into the gym with nothing on, but a pair of bright blue tights!”

What left the then-rookie mouth-gaped further was Wade proceeding to play in the attire. He mentioned how he questioned himself and even ended up calling the incident “crazy.” He added, “He’s like playing, he’s like posting people up like just with his tights on and I’m just like, I’m like ahhh I hope this ain’t what it gotta be like every day like this is crazy”

Although Wade’s tight blue shorts might have caused a stir in the gym, it certainly got him the undivided attention of his teammates who thought that the Heats legend had left his trousers at his home! Interestingly enough, the attire had been highly questioned in the league in the late 2000s, even to the verge of being banned. But having been proven advantageous for “improved circulation and support,” according to T.O Souryal, they stayed; though to the visible criticisms.

While the instance may have been a questionable choice in terms of fashion appearance from Wade, he isn’t always on the receiving end of the criticism. Came to be known as the best-dressed NBA star, Wade once ended up channelling his fashion guru against his former Miami teammate, LeBron James.

Back in 2020 during the matchup between the LA Lakers and Denver Nuggets, Dwyane Wade trolled his former teammate for his open-shirt look. The Heats legend said, “bron got baby oil on his chest!” as ‘The King’ was seen walking around in Orlando earlier that day.

In response, James playfully got back to Wade saying, “He needs to be outdoors right now, I tell you that. He needs a little breeze going on, man. A little sweaty inside that studio. D-Wade is crazy, y’all crazy in that studio for sure.”

One thing for certain, the 3X NBA champion has an eye for fashion. Out of his interest, Wade even runs Way of Wade, a lifestyle brand, and has also come to be an ambassador for Chinese brand, Li-Ning. Furthermore, he has expressed his desire to help more NBA stars up their fashion game and seems to be staunch on it.
