The Miami Heat legend has developed a tradition of having vacations every year with his family. While their usual vacation destination is Hawaii, the Wade family took a trip to Africa last year. Wade’s wife and renowned actress Gabrielle Union recently shared that their family celebrated her 50th birthday in Africa. Moreover, Union also gave an insight into the unforeseen highlight of Dwayne Wade’s family’s trip to Africa.

Gabrielle Union recently appeared on?The Jennifer Hudson Show?alongside host Jennifer Hudson. During the conversations, Hudson asked Union how she celebrated her 50th birthday. Union stated,?“I decided I wanted to be, I wanted to bring in 50 in Africa.”?Moreover, the?Think Like a Man?star was asked if she managed to see any animals in Africa during her family trip.

Gabrielle Union revealed the unexpected highlight of African trip

In the recent edition of the Jennifer Hudson Show, Gabrielle Union shared that the Wade family went on a jungle safari in Namibia. Moreover, the 50-year-old revealed that they got to see a whole ‘pride’ of lions on the safari. Further, Union said, “And our guard was talking about when lions mate. Right? First of all, the Lion King doesn’t cover this part because then it gets a little messy. So, but Mufasa basically had a bunch of wives, basically.”

Sharing her experience, Union stated, “So, you see this lion get up and kind of walk behind one of the lionesses and kind of crouched down and it was like, oh! He’s telling her a secret. And, it wasn’t a secret. And the whole, everyone is like oh yes, we’re watching it happen.”

Gabrielle Union stated the guide told her that the sight of a lion mating was quite rare. She reckoned that they were lucky enough to see lions mate during their safari across Namibia.

Union shares her daughter’s reaction to bizarre scenes

During the show, Gabrielle Union also gave an insight into her daughter’s reaction when she saw the lions mate for the first time during their African vacation. Union said, “My child was like, he is hurting her and I’m like, ‘I hope not!”

Further, the renowned actress added, “But we had to have the conversation. Well because we can’t say he’s hurting her. She’s gonna watch National Geographic and you know be like, violence! everywhere.”
