In a 2017 interview, Colbert asked Prokhorov what things to own if one is super-rich. In addition to that, he asked whether he owns a yacht. In reply, the billionaire said, “Just a piece of advice for you, Steve, don’t be attached to things. Be free.” Moreover, he added that he has a yacht but he doesn’t know where the heck it is. This in turn surprised the tv host a little and made him say that’s the reason why we can’t have nice things.
Subsequently, Colbert asked whether he owned a sports team. The billionaire replied, “Only Brooklyn Nets.” This, in turn, made the tv host mimic the billionaire’s accent and jokingly call the Brooklyn Nets ‘Brooklyn Niets’.
