Though widely contested, the 1991 book, The Jordan Rules?examines the infighting and turbulence within the Bulls team that won their first NBA championship in 1991.

In?The Jordan Rules,?author Sam Smith has extensively scrutinized and criticized Michael Jordan’s ways with his teammates. However, MJ and some of his teammates had disregarded the author’s claims. Besides, MJ had also called out the author for exposing a Scottie Pippen story in the book.

Michael Jordan condemns a renowned author for a Scottie Pippen story

In a 1992 interview with the Playboy Magazine, Michael Jordan has spoken at length about his disagreements with the book The Jordan Rules and its author Sam Smith. The excerpts from this interview have recently been featured in an article on ballislife.com. His Airness had contested the author’s claims regarding MJ’s zeal to score, saying he scored for his team to win.

Speaking of the author’s critique of MJ’s harsh mentality, he pointed out that Sam Smith had manipulated and put words in his teammates’ mouths. Besides, MJ did not appreciate the author’s decision to include a story about Scottie Pippen in the book.

Michael Jordan heard that the book explores a story involving him and his teammates Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant.

“He [Sam Smith] really exploits certain things. I?ve heard there was a story about how Pippen, Grant and I were talking about our sons? penises. He said we spent thirty minutes debating whose son had the biggest penis. What?s the purpose of that being in the book? You know it?s kidding, so what?” Michael Jordan said, calling out Smith for exposing this Scottie Pippen story.

Michael Jordan has more disagreements with Sam Smith

Michael Jordan challenged Sam Smith for manipulating his teammates to tell stories about MJ being harsh. MJ 23 said he wonders how they won the 1991 championship if so much turbulence and hatred were there within the Bulls team. Besides, the 5x-MVP had also contested Smith’s claim that MJ got free tickets to Bulls’ games. Jordan asserted that he had paid for all the tickets and even gave loose tickets to Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant, despite not taking money from them.
