North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un is seen by many around the world to be a dictator and a potential threat. However, that is not the case with Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman. The former NBA champion has had multiple visits to North Korea where he has had interactions with Jong-un. Interestingly enough, contrary to how the world perceives Jong-un, Rodman has described him as a friendly person and a good friend. Back in 2013, after Rodman had made his first trip to North Korea, he addressed the media and revealed Jong-un’s true intentions.
The North Korean leader simply wanted to talk basketball with Barack Obama and not wage war with the country! Therefore, Rodman wanted Obama to organize a call and talk with Kim Jong-un.

Five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman has a knack for being different from everybody. Be it his style off the court or his play on the court, there was simply no one like him. In 2013, he did the unthinkable yet again.
Rodman visited North Korea for a ‘basketball democracy tour’. Kim Jong-un apparently is a huge basketball fan and his own brother happened to sport The Worm’s jersey regularly.
During this period of time, he spent a lot of time with Jong-un and described him as a person who smiles all the time. Moreover, the former DPOY described him as his “friend for life”. Additionally, he also revealed Jong-un’s true intentions with the then-POTUS, Barack Obama. Jong-un just wanted to talk basketball!
“His whole deal is to talk basketball with Obama. Unfortunately, Obama doesn’t want to have anything to do with him. I ask, Mr. President, what’s the harm in a simple phone call? This is a new age, man. Come on, Obama, reach out to Kim and be his friend,” said Rodman appealing to the former POTUS.
Interestingly enough, he also talked about returning to the country in August 2013, where he planned to just chill, play some basketball and potentially go on a vacation with Kim’s family.
Rodman once described partying with Jong-un
Apart from playing basketball, Rodman also indulged in partying with the leader. Kim Jong-un invited him saying, “Let’s have dinner tonight, a little karaoke and have some vodka, some hotties’ and stuff like that”.
