Marcus Smart has been with the Boston Celtics since 2014. He played under Udoka for two seasons and certainly enjoyed playing under him. Udoka guided the Celtics to the NBA Finals, in his first season as the head coach. Marcus Smart recently shared his thoughts on the recent reports suggesting Ime Udoka’s situation with the Nets.

“From what we know and were told, it was just a suspension. We didn’t know he was leaving to go coach somebody else. We thought they just suspended him for the year and he’d be back. That’s why it’s confusing. We weren’t told too much about it,” Smart said.

He continued: “I think it left a lot of people just like, ‘What the hell is going on here?’ Because obviously, they suspended him for breaking a team rule”.

The Nets need an experienced coach who can handle their dressing room full of superstars. Ime Udoka possibly has the capability to turn the situation in Brooklyn around.
