In an episode of ‘The Howard Stern Show’, Kurt Busch, a popular NASCAR driver revealed how involved Michael Jordan is in the sport. So much so that, he keeps tabs on his drivers. Once he had questioned a certain play by Busch by sending him a shrug emoji. Jordan texted, “What happened? You choked man.”

Kurt Busch recalled how he had missed a pole position at Loudon, New Hampshire. He ended up getting third. And the competitive Jordan surfaced. Busch shared with the panel that Jordan was “very tuned in“.

He also spoke about his exchange with Jordan during his job interview. Michael Jordan told him, “We know you drive from your heart, just like I play“. He added that MJ’s spirit seeps into the team.

Busch was excited about his next chapter

This year, Kurt Busch signed with the 23 XI Racing, the $150 million NASCAR team that was owned by both Jordan and Denny Hamlin. Just like Jordan, Busch also has had a long career clocking in his 23rd season this year. According to ‘Fox News‘, he has had 33 Cup victories to his name.

Last year, Busch had said on record, “I cannot begin to express my gratitude for this opportunity. Helping to continue developing a new team, alongside Michael Jordan, Denny Hamlin, and Toyota is exactly what I want to be a part of“.
