After months of hearings and other legalities, the court sentenced Griner to 9 years in prison. Previously, she had confessed to her crime but stated that she had no intention of breaking the law.

Griner’s family members were nothing but supportive of their child when the Phoenix Mercury star came out in front of them. Her brother was quite supportive of her, although he joked when Griner came out to him. He said, “It ain’t no thang. We’ve known since you were in diapers.“
Moreover, Brittney’s mother, Sandra, always had her child’s back. During an interview, Brittney talked about her mother’s support during the early days of her career.

Griner has always been exceptional in basketball. Talking in the interview, she talked about how basketball helped in her life outside the court. She said, “It was a process. I think some of why it’s gotten better is because I’ve done so well with ball.“
Brittney already had made a name for herself thanks to her domination in college. Subsequently, she entered the 2013 WNBA draft as the 1st overall pick.

In her 9 seasons in the league, Griner has been selected for the All-Star game on 7 occasions. Backing her incredible career is her numbers. She averages 17.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
