Things are finally starting to look normal for Brittney Griner, who previously had a pretty bad year. The WNBA star recently signed a one-year contract extension with the Phoenix Mercury after remaining inactive for a year due to her detainment in Russia. However, it might still take some time for Griner to win fans’ approval, given the harsh criticism she faced upon signing a deal with the Mercury. It has only been a few days since the incident and fans have already targeted Griner for yet another reason.
Fans rejoiced when POTUS Joe Biden announced that Russia released Brittney Griner after keeping her in custody for about 10 months. Several hours after Biden’s announcement, Griner’s wife Cherelle rushed to the Arizona airport to welcome Griner back home. An emotional Cherelle could not hold back her tears as the couple finally embraced each other after going through a rough couple of months.
