John Salley on how Michael Jordan made him compel his teammates
In a recent interview, Salley opened up on why he was among the only three players to shake hands with the Bulls players following their embarrassing loss against Chicago in the 1991 playoffs. The four-time NBA champion said, “The reason I did is one because MJ is my frat brother and my friend.”??Therefore, Salley implied that as he and Jordan were friends since college, which was part of the reason why he couldn’t just walk away.
Apart from that, he also said that he felt the Pistons should have congratulated the Bulls just like how Kevin McHale of the Celtics gave a high five to Isiah Thomas after the Pistons defeated the Celtics. To support his statements he added, “So when we were handed it off the Bulls the same way it would have been different if we were in their gym, but we’re in our gym, we took the beating, we should have manned up.”
