Draymond Green, Stephen Curry?and Klay Thompson undoubtedly form the Golden State’s core. These three players have given their blood and sweat for the Warriors’ four triumphant campaigns in the last eight seasons. This time around, the reigning champions started the playoffs with expectations of another title run. However, the Dubs fought an intense and tiring battle to overcome the Kings in the first round only to face defeat at the hands of the Lakers in the next round.

Given his championships and playoffs experience, Draymond Green couldn’t fathom the fact that his side failed to make it to the Conference Finals.

“It’s been a long time since we have had a healthy Dubs team. And we’re sitting here and talking about the Conference Finals and not a part of it. Very weird. Really tripped me out today when I opened up my Instagram and I saw guys walking into an arena and I’m like… Wow, that’s when they really hit me like we’re really done like the season’s still going and we’re not playing,” Draymond Green said on the latest episode of his podcast.

Unfortunately, reality hit Draymond Green the hardest when things have become more tumultuous in the Dubs’ camp. A key member who has been with the Bay Area side through thick and thin through the last decade is likely to leave the Golden State.

A key Golden State member might walk away soon

The Golden State Warriors owe a part of their phenomenal success to their president of basketball operations and general manager, Bob Myers. Myers had joined the Dubs in 2011 as an assistant general manager. Ever since the start of his stint with the Warriors, Bob Myers has been playing a crucial role in adding key players to the Dubs’ roster. Myers’ $8 million/year contract will expire this June. The 48-year-old reportedly has not had any discussions with the franchise to extend his contract.
