On Monday night, the New Orleans Pelicans lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 120-111. However, with recent updates, the Pelicans may have lost something more significant. During the game, the 2021 NBA All-Star Zion Williamson was forced to exit early due to an injury. He played for 28 minutes, garnering 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists. But his exit may have foreshadowed a longer one.

The Pelicans announced that they would be playing without their superstar Zion Williamson, for at least 3 weeks, owing to a right hamstring strain. The NBA world is in shambles. A fan wrote, “We literally cannot catch a break. This is just absurd“.

The franchise is on the third seed of the Western Conference, with a .622 winning percentage. They have a good record of 23-14. Zion Williamson himself has been averaging outstanding numbers. With an average of 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists, he has truly been an asset. Unfortunately, what he is not is consistent.

The NBA world responded to Zion’s health update. The young player has missed a chunk of games and has not had a perfect attendance record. Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the news.

According to Sports Illustrated, Zion missed the last season. “He has consistently dealt with injuries and has only played 114 regular-season games in his career“, they noted.
