Yet another Pride month concludes! And just recently, Houston, Texas saw its very own Pride parade. The parade gained a lot of traction in the NBA world, as five-time champion Dennis Rodman was at the forefront of the rally. Challenging stereotypes with his outfit once again, Dennis Rodman had then taken to Instagram with pictures and videos from the day. As Rodman’s gestures are now in the spotlight, a 50-year-old Hollywood star took notice of his outfit from the day. Besides, Rodman’s activism also gave way to a special request from a blogger.
During the much-talked-about Pride rally, Dennis Rodman wore a chequered green skirt and a t-shirt. Many who aren’t aware of Rodman’s historical support of the LGBTQIA+ community criticized him for the act. However, a remarkable lot is happy and inspired by The Worm’s commitment to breaking stereotypes.

In a recent episode of Fox Soul’s?Tea-G-I-F podcast, the crew spoke at length about the recent Pride celebrations that caught public attention.
While speaking of celebrities who partook in Pride rallies, host and Hollywood star Claudia Jordan unsurprisingly touched up on Dennis Rodman’s parade participation. “Another celeb spotted celebrating Pride was Dennis Rodman, who was at Houston, Texas Pride parade dressed in a plaid skirt. The former NBA player clapped back at the haters online and said, ‘Do your research.’,” said Claudia Jordan.
Co-host and social media blogger Quentin Latham soon shared his thoughts on Dennis Rodman’s response and his Pride rally outfit. “I just thought about something. The LGBTQIA+ community, we actually need to build a statue of Dennis Rodman, because Dennis Rodman was trailblazing gender-bending roles before this was even a movement,” said Latham.
“He was doing the nails, the “women’s clothes,” I don’t even know if we are even allowed to say that anymore. Is there such a thing as women’s clothes? He was doing the gender-bending way back. And this ain’t nothing for Dennis Rodman.”
After Claudia Jordan and Quentin Latham spoke about the Chicago Bulls legend, the other host, Al Reynolds, also recognized Dennis Rodman for his ‘gender bending’ gestures.
Dennis Rodman sets an example for the world by being an LGBTQIA+ ally
Lauding Dennis Rodman’s recent endeavor, Al Reynolds gave an interesting observation about him. As Reynolds rightly remembered, Dennis Rodman has dated some prominent women like Madonna, Carmen Electra, and Toni Braxton. Besides, he has never had a romantic relationship with another male.

Nonetheless, Rodman is a key champion for the cause of the LGBTQIA+ movement. He upholds the message, ‘You don’t need to be gay to be non-gender-conforming.
As the talk show hosts have rightly pointed out, Dennis Rodman has historically been subverting hetero-normative notions and stereotypes. With his recent gestures, Rodman has loudly proclaimed that he will continue to raise a voice for the queer community. Therefore, it wasn’t way too far-fetched for Latham to call for a Rodman statue.
