Who knew a banana boat ride with three NBA players on it would go viral? The 2003 NBA Draft Class produced some of the greatest players to ever play the game. Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and LeBron James came into the league together and have maintained a great bond ever since. Even in their off-court activities! A trip to the Bahamas ended up going viral after pictures and videos of these legends on a banana boat took over the internet back in 2015. Apart from the three of them, there was another NBA star on the trip and he recently revealed his thoughts on the iconic picture. 

Though he did not belong to the same draft class as Wade, James, and Anthony, the 12-time All-Star’s appearance had stunned the fans at the time. Now, the 38-year-old recently threw some light on the viral incident.

38-year-old NBA legend reveals the banana boat incident

At the time, it was somewhat surprising to see Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Though Cp3 was from a different draft class and played in a different team, the 38-year-old joined the legends of the 2003 draft class for a trip to the Bahamas. However, the Point God was not expecting any paparazzi on his trip with his friends.

Several people reacted to the hilarious banana boat picture which has Dwyane Wade and his wife in the front, followed by Chris Paul and then the 4-time MVP. Anthony was also on the trip, however, did not join the boat ride as he was late.

Chris Paul, in a recent interview, threw some light on the incident, “First and foremost, Melo wasn’t on it. We knew paparazzi existed but, in the Bahamas?! We was like six hours out on a boat in the Bahamas on vacation…”

Well, CP3 just wanted to have some fun with his “homies” and also made it very clear there were no other intentions. Nevertheless, the pictures became iconic and gave rise to a lot of memes. So much so that even NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal reacted to them.

Shaquille O’Neal doesn’t have any filters. If Shaq got some jokes, he is going to dish them out without any hesitation. A few years back, in an interview with Chris Paul, the ‘Big Diesel’ roasted LeBron for his hilarious pose.

LeBron James was seen arching his back a bit too much in the boat. The 4x NBA champion decided to make full use of it.
