There’s very little that we don’t know about the life of Lakers’ legend Kobe Bryant. Whether it is how he started off his career, his achievements throughout his time at the NBA, or his relationships with his family, friends, teammates – fans know the ‘Black Mamba’ like the back of their hands.
However, very few remember the time Kobe shared his choice of music.
Well, this was back in 2003, when he was a guest at the Teen Choice Awards where he was also named the favorite male athlete. Let’s hear about the artists that used to catch Kobe’s attention.

Kobe Bryant is fond of Gerald Maxwell
Kobe answered many interesting questions at the Teen Choice Awards. One of them was about the type of music he listens to, to which he said, “When I am relaxed, I like all types of music when I am relaxed. I listen to classical music, listen to maxwell, listen to Brandy.
“I listen to all types of music and it switches up,” he reiterated. However, when asked about his favorite romantic music artist, he didn’t hesitate and said, “Oh Maxwell! Maxwell smooths things out. Maxwell and 112. The ladies like that.”
Then, he jokingly stated, “That’s what I heard. I mean, I don’t know.” Well, it looks like Kobe knew exactly what he wanted to listen to when he was in a particular mood.

Standing ovation at the Awards
Kobe never failed to achieve brilliance, even off the court. From charitable work to his famous shoe line, and winning Oscars, he did not leave any stone unturned. This was, in fact, his fourth win in five years, and he even received a standing ovation when he got the award.
This goes to show the impact he had on his fans, and how much they love and support him. So, when the Lakers legend passed away last year, it wasn’t easy for anyone to swallow that hard pill of reality
Even now, all anyone from the NBA fraternity can do is talk about what a great inspiration he was. And how much he changed their lives without knowing it.
