The NBA Hall of Famer’s debut album, Shaq Diesel hit right on the money. Going platinum, the Big Aristotle had officially announced himself. Having his favorite artists rap alongside him, Shaq was living the dream. He returned with a gold-selling album, Shaq Fu: The Return. However, having Jay-Z on his track might not be the biggest flex. The Lakers legend was recognized by the king of pop, Michael Jackson himself.

With the recent Emmy awards, his podcast roamed around the big day. And Shaq had the gold to show. But his trophies failed to garner the response one might anticipate.

Shaquille O’Neal and his two Emmys get ignored

As Big Podcast co-host Nischelle Turner got ready for the Emmys, she showed off the insane diamond necklace she borrowed. But right by her side, Shaq took out his two prestigious trophies. Putting them in front of his face, the Big Diesel was ready for all the praises. However, it seems Turner’s necklace took over the occasion. Shaq’s two Emmys didn’t get any love as he quietly set them aside. Neither Nischelle Turner, nor Spice Adams, made any remarks on them.

As the Emmys celebrate the best of everything, it begs the question, when did Shaquille O’Neal add two of them to his trophy case?

Despite arguably a great music career, Shaq never won an Emmy for his rapping. It came from his current job as an analyst with Inside the NBA. Sharing the desk with his peers and Ernie Johnson, the crew in one of the most popular television shows. A mix of fun, laughter, and basketball, the show has it all. And in 2021, they took home two of those awards while Johnson won an Emmy for Outstanding Sports Personality Studio Host. The show has won a total of fifteen sports Emmys.
