Shaquille O’Neal has probably been the harshest critic of center Rudy Gobert. Ever since the 7’1 French man signed a 5-year extension worth $205 million, Shaq has been very critical of Gobert.
In a recent appearance on the All Things Covered podcast, O’Neal took a dig at Gobert and said that he must have had the best agent in the world to get this humongous deal.

Shaq continued making harsh comments on the French man on NBA’s post show on TNT. In one such instance, when the other show members were busy praising Luka Doncic’s superb performance against the Nuggets, Shaq took a dig at the 27-year-old Gobert.
He said, “If 11 points gets you $200 million, 38 points will get you $600 million, right?” Even Charles Barkley chimed in and said, “If I played today I will be going to the game in a spaceship.”

This criticism comes days after the French man denied any claims of a potential beef with the Lakers legend. Shaq continued his rant about Gobert and dismissed him as being one of the best centers in the league.
When Charles Barkley raised a point about Gobert being the DPOY, Shaq said, “I don’t care about damn individual awards, I care about team success. He hasn’t won any championships… All the kids out there, watch Rudy Gobert. If you do what he can do, you can get 200 million.”

This is not the first time Shaq is dissing another world-class center. Over the years he has trolled and dismissed multiple centers like Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee. Gobert is the latest addition to this list.

Have the Utah Jazz overpaid Rudy Gobert?
Over the years, Rudy Gobert has cemented his position in Utah’s starting lineup. He has formed a great partnership with guard Donovan Mitchell. This is the reason the Jazz were desperate to keep this dynamic duo intact, and this was the chance for Gobert to get the deal of his life and he did. He signed one of the biggest contracts in NBA history and committed to Utah Jazz.
Given the French man’s performances in the current regular season, it seems like he might be overpaid. The Jazz have underperformed so far with both of their superstars failing to impress.

The Jazz are desperate to cement themselves as a successful side in the Western Conference. If this poor run of form continues, they might be in deep trouble.
