It is crucial for them as their new additions need to gel together. However, there are some old faces such as Rajon Rondo, who LeBron James dearly missed.

Rondo was a part of the 2020 Lakers. While he wasn’t in his prime, his contributions were irreplaceable. He won his second NBA championship with them that year in the Orlando Bubble. After a move to rivals, Clippers did not work out, he is back in purple and gold this season.

Rondo emotional hearing LeBron James and Davis missed him

Rondo did not have a great season with the Clippers last season. While he had some good games, the season was a one to forget. Moreover, he did not make the rotations during playoff time and didn’t get to play much. Hence, this move to the Lakers must be a big relief for him.

It was also a relief for the ‘King’ and Anthony Davis who worked very well with Rondo. During the 2020 playoffs, their chemistry was on point and it isn’t surprising that they are glad to see him return. However, upon hearing they missed him last season, Rondo did his best fake cry that went viral as soon as it happened.

But the banter is something that keeps happening and helps build relationships. On the court, he is probably the best point guard to come behind Russell Westbrook. Rondo’s a genius playmaker and with LeBron and AD starting at their normal positions, his passing will play a pivotal part.

During the 2020 playoffs, Rondo played 24 minutes and managed to add almost 9 points along with 6.6 assists per game. His impact while on the floor will be immense for the Lakers who lacked a playmaker last season. With him taking the point spot, there will be no worry of having a facilitator on the floor at all times. He is also an underrated leader.
