It was another routine Sunday night for Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, as they cruised past a lowly Houston Rockets. Curry combined with Jordan Poole for a mammoth 45 points, leaving no chance for Houston to climb back into the game.
In a rather scary incident during the game, however, GSW’s center-forward Draymond Green took out Houston’s young Kevin Porter Jr. The incident took place early in the 1st quarter.

The Warriors have gotten off to the best possible start. Racing to a 8-1 record so far, they sit firmly on top of the Western Conference standings. Who knows the storm that awaits us once the great Klay Thompson returns to action. On the other hand, the Rockets have been poles apart from the Warriors. Apart from a few bright sparks, they haven’t been able to garner any sort of momentum. One of these sparks, has been 21-year-old Kevin Porter Jr.

Draymond Green takes down Kevin Porter Jr. after losing the ball
Steve Kerr’s side raced off the blocks at Chase Center, and to nobody’s surprise. It turned out to be a high-scoring 1st quarter, with almost 70 points between the teams. Early on, however, there was a peculiar incident that took place.
Looking to attack, Houston lost the ball, and it tumbled into the back-court. Looking to capitalize on the counter, 31-year-old Green hustled towards the ball. Managing to beat his opponent and get the ball, the powerhouse lost balance, meaning that he had to flick the ball back.

Unfortunately, the cut back fell straight into the hands of a prowling Rockets player. Not giving up, Draymond chased back, looking to stop Houston from scoring off his mistake. The victim was guard-forward Kevin Porter Jr.
In a devastating move, Green went in from behind and knocked the youngster down, in NFL fashion. It was a brutal move, awarding the home team with a foul. However, the error didn’t cost the Californian giants much, as they marched towards a dominant display.
Draymond Green is known for his defensive capabilities and never-say-die attitude. If this doesn’t showcase his desire, we’re not sure what will. It will be intriguing to see if he can guide his men to a historic title victory this year.
