The Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies entered somewhat known territories tonight as they played each other. The two teams met in the first round of the playoffs last season, hence they’re aware of each other’s games. However, the Jazz were definitely the favorites to win this as well who have had a great start to the 2021-22 NBA campaign, unlike the Grizzlies. However, fans were majorly scared in the midst of the game as Utah’s star player Rudy Gobert had an injury scare, colliding with Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr.

Much like last season, the Utah Jazz has been a force to be reckoned with this season. They’ve consistently remained near the top of the Western Conference and are currently holding an 11-5 record. Before entering this matchup with the Grizzlies, the Jazz has gathered quite the momentum by winning three of their previous games in a row.

On the other hand, the Grizzlies have hardly held it together. Their previous game was a humiliating 43-point blowout loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Overall, their record stands at 8-8 and isn’t showing many signs of improving either. With the Jazz leading for the most part of the game, they faced a minor bump as Rudy Gobert found himself on the floor.

The big man was finding his way through the paint, and as he moved closer to the rim for a bucket, Jaren Jackson Jr.’s pump fake came in the way, and took him down as well. The collision and the fall were ugly, leaving the Jazz fans on the edge. Thankfully, Gobert returned to play with no difficulties and kept leading for Jazz in terms of scoring.

The Memphis Grizzlies giving them a run for their money

During the first two quarters of the game, the Memphis Grizzlies were trailing the Jazz throughout. However, they turned it around for themselves in the third. So, Rudy’s injury scare isn’t the only thing that now has fans worried.

Losing to the Grizzlies will be quite embarrassing for them. But Ja Morant and Desmond Bane’s offensive prowess is getting a little tough to handle for Utah. Will they be able to gain back control of the game? Or will the Grizzlies pull off an incredible upset?
