The Brooklyn Nets started their 2021-22 campaign on the road and without Kyrie Irving. As a result, they failed to match-up against the defending champions in the Milwaukee Bucks. If anything, the Nets had no defense against Giannis Antetokounmpo and his well-shaped offensive game.

The Greek Freak took matters in his hands right from the opening possession. And then, it was only about time that he unleashed terror and there was absolutely nothing the Nets could do about it.

Giannis Antetokounmpo pulled out every move from his box

The FMVP was the first player to touch the double figure as he showed immense improvement in his game. Although the 1x champion struggled from the three-point range (1/4), he was a new force from the free throw line

Then, he showed yet another move when he had at least three Nets defenders facing him. With the Bucks leading by eleven points at 77-66, the Freak converted a Euro-Step as Kevin Durant faced him with no impact whatsoever. Take a look –

It was as if the 26-YO picked up from where he left off in the NBA Playoffs 2021 and again registered a 30+ points night. In his 31 minutes, the Freak managed 32 points, 14 rebs, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.

The Bucks’ starters delivered as the Nets barely matched

Apart from Giannis’s double-double, the Bucks saw the trio of Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Grayson Allen combining for 42 points. Plus, Brook Lopez (1 steal, 3 blocks) also made his presence felt when he blocked a high-flying Joe Harris at a crucial juncture.

But, it was especially great to see Grayson taking his risks and being very aggressive with his shooting. Talking about shooting, Patty Mills went 7/7 from beyond the arc and that set a positive tone for the Nets’ long range offense.

Even without Kyrie, the visitors converted 17/32 and that remained the only area where they flourished. Even a 32-point double-double from KD and a 4/8 from the three-point line from The Beard could not save the Nets from a 23-point loss.
