When Eric Gordon entered the NBA, he made a decent name for himself by making it into the 2008-09 All-Rookie team. The 6’3″ guard-forward scored 41 points against Kevin Durant (OKC) in his debut year itself and set the ball rolling. In fact, in his 13 seasons in the NBA, his consistency is something that his teammates have always relied on. However, his biggest achievement till now would probably be defeating the kids of Michael Jordan when he was in high school.
In the 90s, Michael Jordan was the greatest opponent that anybody could have. Beating him was like an achievement on its own. However, the same can’t be said about his sons Jeffrey and Marcus Jordan. Unlike MJ, these two never experienced the professional life of an NBA player but they were quite brilliant during their high school years.
The two brothers played at Loyola Academy, a school whose reputation was enough to make someone famous. With already a lot of hype around Jordan’s children, the Academy also got them a lot of attention. But who knew, a soon-to-be star in the NBA would be showing them the face of defeat during a game in 2007 against North Central.

This was a game that had appeared on national television, with Jordan on the sidelines to support his sons. But the obvious favorites did not know that they would be up against the number 2 ranked prospect, who would hand them an 88-47 loss.

Eric Gordon torched the sons of Michael Jordan
During their face-ff, both Jeffrey and Marcus were responsible for guarding Gordon but failed drastically. The future Sixth Man of the Year scored almost half of his team’s total, finishing the night with 43 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.
However, the uncanny resemblance to Jordan was mind-blowing for everyone who saw one of his dunks in the fourth quarter. His nickname Air Gordon was only fitting, especially after this iconic performance.
What’s even crazier is that he pulled this off while wearing MJ’s number 23. In the history of high-school basketball, this game can definitely go down as one of the best anyone has ever seen.

And what’s certain is that Jordan will probably not be able to forget this ever. So, Eric might not have gotten enough credit in the NBA, but he will forever remain a high-school legend.
