Isaiah Thomas finally found his way back into the NBA after sitting out for eight months. The last time he appeared for a game was for the New Orleans Pelicans back in April 2020. Although he is on a ten-day contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, he fully intends to make the most of it.
This doesn’t just include putting up a stellar performance to help them win, but his return proved that he is fired up enough to even almost pick up a fight with someone way taller than him.

The Los Angeles Lakers were already missing some guards because of the health and safety protocols of the NBA. Hence, Thomas coming at this time to fill in was the perfect solution against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Not only did he receive a very surprisingly warm welcome from the fans in the arena, but he also played incredibly well.
In the first seventeen minutes of him entering the second quarter, he had 12 points. In fact, he finished with 19 points, the highest in the team. That’s right: he had more points than LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis. Even though his addition to the roster as a part-time player met with a lot of criticism, he surely made his point through his contribution.

However, Thomas did not leave the court without some drama as well. While grabbing a rebound from a shot Thomas had made, Josh Okogie and he bumped hard into each other and fell to the floor. This left Thomas in a rage and he indulged in a pretty heated exchange with the Timberwolves shooting guard.
The Lakers’ poor performance landed them on the losing end
The Lakers suffered a 110-92 loss at the hands of the Timberwolves. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with his 28 points, along with D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley backing him up. Since this matchup was supposed to be an easy win for the LA team, it came as a big disappointment to fans.

Anthony Davis suffered another injury during the course of the game. This has dampened any hopes that anyone had for this team.
If this scenario continues, it is unsure if their so-called ‘Big Three’ can bring home another title or not. With the competition there in the West, it seems highly unlikely.
