The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Houston Rockets for the second time. The Staples center is all purple and gold as the Lakers garner home support. Coming off a win in their first game, the Lake show enters this contest with utmost confidence. However, both teams did not have a memorable outing. Poor shooting and an abundance of turnovers were the only takeaways from the last game. This time, Anthony Davis is back sparking more injury concerns.

After a sloppy matchup, both teams are looking to announce themselves in a better way. While the Lakers come in with a winning record, the Rockets are struggling so far. Hence, they will look to make their mark by beating the team that everyone has been talking about.

Likewise, both teams got off to a fierce start, going shot for shot. The offensive display is clearly better than their previous matchup where they barely shot over 40% from the field. However, while battling to get points, Anthony Davis fell and held his ankle.

Anthony Davis has a scary fall

During an offensive possession, Davis was in an isolation play with Rockets’ Alperen Sengun. After that AD went right at the basket and used his body to force Sengun off. While Sengun went down, Anthony Davis tripped over his leg and had an awkward landing. He held his ankle as soon as he landed sparking injury concerns once again. However, he got up soon after.

With his history of injuries, a fall like that sees fear in every Lakers’ fan. Davis is a big part of the current Laker squad. Being one of their ‘Big 3’, his contributions could make or break a game for the Lakers. Currently, at half time Davis has scored 15 points while grabbing 5 rebounds.

However, since his fall, AD has not looked quite the same. At the start of the game, Davis was aggressive going right at the rim and attacking the Rockets defense. But since his fall, it looks like Davis has resorted to taking more jump shots rather than finishing at the rim. Even the commentators spotted this change and said the fall may have affected Anthony Davis in some way.
