The Los Angeles Lakers fans were thrilled to have LeBron James back on the court after missing eight games because of an abdominal strain. However, the remainder of the night against the Boston Celtics barely left a smile on their face. Not only did they lose their third straight game, but Bron’s return was not nearly as pleasant either as he completely lost his cool against a referee.

Any game against the Boston Celtics is of great importance to the Lakers. Their rivalry goes way back, but it is safe to say, that Boston took full advantage of the purple and gold’s inability to carry their offense. In fact, they pissed LeBron James to an extent that he had to scream and shout at a referee.

Both these teams haven’t had the ideal start to the season, with prominent players missing from the roster due to injuries. In fact, they also entered this matchup with somewhat the same record, hoping to break their losing streaks. The only difference was that the Celtics were able to hold the fort against the Lakers thanks to Dennis Schroder and Jayson Tatum’s incredible performances.

On the other hand, fans witnessed a Bron as good as new. He was able to contribute 23 points next to Anthony Davis‘ 31 points. However, because he was not receiving any fouls, in the second quarter he went off on the referee. Grant Williams’ foul on him at half court when he intercepted a pass was his last straw.

This loss has the Lakers record down to 8-9 now. The only good thing that came out of this matchup was that LeBron was hardly rusty in his first game back after his injury. This means that there is hope that he can help the Lakers get back on the horse before it’s too late.

They are facing the Detroit Pistons next up, a team barely holding it together in the East with a 4-11 record. This is the perfect opportunity for them to get a fresh start and add victories to their record. Can he pull that off?
