The Los Angeles Lakers had a difficult season. Several acquisitions were made in the postseason to bolster the squad, but ultimately they did not pave the way to success. Since relocating from Cleveland, LeBron James has given his all to the city of Los Angeles. However, owing to last season’s screw-ups, the supporters’ main concern has been James’ future.

But what The King posted on his Instagram story today will give LA fans a ray of much-needed hope. The four-time MVP arrived in his Porsche to hit an early workout at the Lakers’ training complex called the UCLA Health Training Center. While the fans worry about his future at LA, the 37-year-old is already putting in the work for next season.
James posted a number of stories. In the first story, he arrived at the training center at 5:00 AM, with the caption reading “The perfect place to pull up on to relieve some stress! Time to work (crown emoji).” That “perfect place” would have been poetry to the ears of Lakers fans. James also posted a story of the basketball court, showcasing the Lakers emblem. In the rest of the stories, he was seen working out with a kettlebell and finishing with some core training.
The Lakeshow express broke down well before its intended destination. From chemistry issues to the firing of the coach, the Lakers‘ season had it all. One other major problem that plagued the Lakers’ season was health.
LeBron James sums up his fit with Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook: "The reason we were not very good together is we weren't on the damn floor together. That's the No. 1 damn thing."

With a number of injuries to important players and James himself missing significant time due to injury, perhaps viewing James’ workout can encourage his teammates. Fair to say, while the franchise is currently embroiled in the dirt, the King, at 37, is solely focused on the next season.
LeBron James and the Lakers’ marriage is at a tenuous point
Individually, LeBron James had a phenomenally successful year, coming within a whisker of taking home the scoring title and dominating like he’s 27. However, his teammates let him down and the Lakers finished the season with only 33 wins.

James’ contract expires after the next season, and even though he can put pen to a two-year deal in August, it’s questionable whether he will. With the level at which James performed this season, one might anticipate him to have at least 2 more incredible seasons in him provided he can remain fit. And the Lakers would lay down their lives for it to materialize in Los Angeles.
James said talking in an interview about how his contract extension situation is still in the air.

“The conversation hasn’t been talked about. Technically, it’s because with the collective bargaining agreement it cannot even be discussed until later on in the year. So, you know, I know what’s out there. But we can’t even — myself and Rich — can’t even begin to talk with Rob, or the front office at all, because of the collective bargaining agreement. So when we get to that point, we’ll see,” said James.

LeBron James may have a mental picture of what he desires. This might go one of two ways: he could play out his current contract and join whatever team drafts his son Bronny James in 2023 since he has already expressed that he would love to play with him. Or instead, he may sign the extension and try and make another championship run with the Lakers.
