While LeBron James is still out injured, he’s traveled with the Lakers for their five-game road trip. He was back on the sidelines supporting his teammates during their NBA matchup against the Raptors. There were plenty of reactions from him from courtside, including a disgruntled reaction with the referees as they failed to call an offensive foul in the favor of his team.
The moment happened late in the third quarter when the Lakers were leading the Raptors 81-61. Toronto’s trade deadline acquisition, Gary Trent Jr, charged towards the basket when he encountered a static Dennis Schroder on his way.
The German took a charge from Gary Trent Jr. and went down on the floor. All of his Lakers‘ teammates stopped and appealed to the referee in unison. Even the Raptors’ guard stopped in his layup motion, anticipating an offensive foul against him. But it did not come.

The referees were not buying Schroder’s flop. However, LeBron James wasn’t a happy man on the sidelines. He threw his arms around and gave a rather disgusted look to the referees.
Thankfully, it did not end up costing the Los Angeles Lakers as they held on to a 110-101 victory, despite the Raptors’ late surge in the second half. There were contributions all around the floor as seven players got into double-digit scoring figures. These were very positive signs for them in the absence of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
LeBron James previously received an anti-flopping warning from the NBA
The league has been trying to enforce an anti-flopping policy this season. It is to curb the excessive antics from the players where they flail with their arms around despite minimal contact. The likes of Marcus Smart and Kristaps Porzingis have officially received an NBA warning, among others.

And the most high-profile warning was reserved for LeBron James. During the game against the Grizzlies in mid-February, he went down without any contact from the opposing defender. It was an attempt to deceive the referee, and he duly received a slap on the wrists.
