When the top players compete, it always makes for a memorable matchup. Similarly, as the Dallas Mavericks take on the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant and Luka Doncic also square off.

While Doncic did take some time off because of injuries, he has picked up from where he left off. As for Durant, he is one of the top candidates to win the MVP award at this stage. While the two went to war, they had a collision that sent both the stars to the floor.

The Nets are the best team in the Eastern Conference with a record of 16-7. However, they recently had a seven game win streak broken by the Chicago Bulls who look to climb their way on top of the ladder. Hence, this game against the Mavericks is crucial for the Nets to solidify their place at the top.

While trying to get back in the game in the second quarter, Durant brought the ball up. Doncic took the challenge of taking on the ‘Easy Money Sniper’ as the two stars came face to face.

However, it was not a long battle as Durant ran right into Doncic and both fell down. The referee called a blocking foul on Luka, which had the Slovenian in shock.

Both of these players are the faces of the league. Hence, their battle is always the one to watch. This time around it  seems that Doncic is winning the battle as he is leading the Mavericks to a win over the no.1 seed Brooklyn Nets. He, along with Porzingis, have put the Mavericks on their back while Durant and Harden are trying to get the Nets back in the game.

Durant is having a rare night of poor shooting. He has added just 13 points while shooting 33% from the floor. Harden closes in on his triple double and he has accumulated 17 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge is proving valuable once again with 15 points on 58% shooting. However, this hasn’t been enough to go through Dallas as Luka and Co. hold a 11 point lead going into the fourth.

Doncic is leading among the scorers with 22 points while adding 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis has his double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Off the bench, Hardaway Jr. and Brunson combine for 25 points as the Dallas lead 75-86 after three quarters.
