After one of the most phenomenal Formula-1 seasons ever, Belgian-Dutch racer Max Verstappen has claimed his maiden World Championship. On Sunday, Max overcame 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton in epic style. Although it was a controversial finish, it capped off a brilliant season for Verstappen. Following the race, fans on social media lost their minds. One of the NBA stars who went berserk, was 76ers starlet Joel Embiid.

By the looks of it, Embiid seems to be a Max Verstappen fan. ‘Mad Max’ as they call him, won numerous titles during the course of the year. After a long time, fans got to see some solid competition against the experienced Hamilton. Numerous icons of the NBA follow the racing circuit, with Joel Embiid being one of the biggest of them. After the race, he took to social media to post a hilarious video of him losing his mind. He was ecstatic with Verstappen’s historic victory in Abu Dhabi.

On a warm evening in the desert land, Max shone under the lights. The race was filled with drama, which is why Embiid’s monstrous reaction is understandable. First, Hamilton and Verstappen went head to head, before the former created controversy for an incident during the race. Later on, numerous racers crashed, before the picture-perfect ending. In the penultimate lap of the face-off, the 24-year-old went on a fearless pursuit of his maiden World title. Overtaking Hamilton, who was tied on points with him before the race, Verstappen claimed the 1st position.

After the race, Joel Embiid posted a video of him celebrating Max’s victory. The 27-year-old Center-forward is currently engrossed in a strenuous regular season in the NBA. Nonetheless, he witnessed the clutch race, and celebrated Verstappen’s win in style. In the video, Embiid was shirtless, and seemed to howling inaudible words. However, it seemed like he was saying “Oh my god!” He captioned his post, “GOATSTAPPEN.” Have a look.
