Zach LaVine injured his knee in the first quarter while playing against the Golden State Warriors and had to leave the court. In Friday’s game, the Chicago Bulls suffered a heavy loss because LaVine missed the whole game after suffering a left knee injury while on the court and the Bulls lost to Warriors by 138-96.
Therefore, LaVine would not be traveling to Boston with the team for Saturday’s match against the Boston Celtics. It was announced that he would stay in Mexico for further MRIs. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski at ESPN, Zach is not in a bad condition.

The Chicago Bulls’ Zach LaVine is temporarily sidelined with a sudden left knee injury
LaVine took a charge after grabbing an offensive rebound with nine minutes remaining towards the end of the first quarter. As he made an intentional foul against Warriors’ Stephen Curry before leaving the court, he never returned. In a way, the situation with the injury that happened in the game wasn’t that intense as LaVine walked towards the locker room without any help.
Bulls head coach Billy Donovan gave reporters an update on LaVine during the postgame press conference, saying:
“The MRI will tell a lot more once he gets that done,” Billy Donovan said. “I don’t want to sit here and speculate … he kind of came down a little funny, and he’s got some discomfort there right now and they want to take a look. He didn’t feel like he could return.”
Based on their record and their lack of players, it doesn’t look good for the Bulls as a lot of players have health issues, such as Alex Caruso, due to NBA health and safety precautions, Derrick Jones Jr., because of Knee related issues, Javonte Green because of his groin, and Tyler Cook because of his ankle injury.

It didn’t seem good for the Bulls to see a key player out due to health issues and injuries. In the last 37 games LaVine played for the Bulls, he averaged 25.6 points on 49% shooting (41% from three), 4.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
